Cosmos Collection - 2025
A supernova of colour and texture with a balance of chaos versus harmony. Cosmos explores mixed media contemporary embroidery and embellishment. These are a few of the pieces from the full collection.
Each artwork encourages curiosity, allowing the viewer to navigate each piece. Artists Jessica Grady and Elnaz Yazdani both utilise sustainable materials within their textiles. Mixing recycled and industrial scrap finds with more traditional hand stitching. The result is an explosion of tactility and pattern, with reflections of galaxies, and solar systems outside of this universe. The work shown is full of joy and playfulness. Jessica adds intricacy to her designs with minute details that draw you in. Elnaz uses dense clusters of embellishments and structure.

Sculpture Collection
I have been focused on creating a collection that pushes the boundaries of 3-D stitch and embellishment. This collection is inspired by coral and underwater forms and explores the possibilities of using recycled and repurposed materials within textiles.

Encrusted Collection
“Encrusted” focuses on the idea of an encrusted surface, fabrics embellished with layers of hand-stitched and manipulated detail. The organic shapes imitate natural surface textures such as moss and barnacles and the way these natural forms envelop a surface. Many of the embellishments are created using combinations of unconventional materials creating metal sequins flecked with paint, hand dyed loops of metallic plastic and origami like structures from melted plastic. Each piece in the collection is a saturated explosion of vivid colour and texture. An original embroidered and embellished creation to create curiosity and intrigue from the viewer.

Blossom Collection
“Blossom” focuses on softer shapes and patterns with a gentle play on floral, organic forms. Bright, zingy, contrasting colours and three-dimensional embellishment detail suggests a curve of a petal or a loop of a new bud. Hand embroidery stitches in bold strokes of neon cottons and pastel wools add soft textures and loud colour pops to the textiles. Hand crafted sequins created from lace painted plastic film and foiled leatherette are folded and shaped into petal forms. The pieces in this collection are layered with intricate detail allowing the viewer to look closer and spot patterns within patterns.
