I am very passionate about getting as many people as possible to have a go at embroidery and embellishments - creating zero- waste textiles and just having a go at something new! I am involved in many community festivals, arts events and participatory workshops for children and adults and have worked with a variety of amazing charities and organisations. I am always on the look out for new projects to get involved with so please get in touch if you would be interested in collaborating.

Pontefract Liquorice Festival 2022 - Creative Commission with Wakefield Council
I was awarded a creative commission with Wakefield Council to produce a large installation that celebrates Pontefract's liquorice heritage, for the Liquorice Festival. I created a textile archway that explored the life cycle of liquorice, showing the plant in its botanical form, blooming into an array of brightly coloured textile liquorice sweets. The installation includes a mix of waste and recycled materials. I also hosted a drop-in family workshop at the festival where over 200 participants created their own textile Pontefract cakes. The finished artwork is installed in Pontefract library.

Gawthorpe Hall Textiles Collection - Green Canopy Platinum Jubilee Workshops - 2022
I was invited by Gawthorpe Hall Textiles Collection Community Engagement Officer, to deliver a number of family orientated workshops with funding from the National Lottery players and administered by UK Community Foundations on behalf of the Arts Council, England, Let’s Create Jubilee Fund. These workshops celebrated the ideas of the Green Canopy project to celebrate biodiversity. Workshop participants designed their own textile leaves, created with recycled materials. This was a great project working with lots of ages, abilities and different families groups across the Burnley area.

Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust - Winter Arts for Wellbeing Weekend - 2021
I was part of the Winter Arts for Wellbeing weekend - commissioned through LCH NHS Trust and created 200 workshop packs and accompanying workshop videos for the event - with the focus being craft activities for mindfulness and better mental health.

Woven Festival 2019 - Schools Future Fashion Challenge
I worked with Woven and the Children's Art School to deliver artist led workshops in local Primary Schools - teaching the children to create their own innovative textiles made from waste. The event culminated in a fantastic fashion show at Huddersfield University.

Community installation for Art& York and Explore York libraries & archives - this project involved creating a large community wall hanging using sequins created from 100% recycled materials. Anyone could join in and add some sequins to the piece of artwork .
